I have all of the software available by Tapbots. However, with Tweetbot for Mac Im definitely not satisfied. Although I have tested the alpha and did not like it, I still wanted to support Tapbots and purchase the product all the while hoping to like it. The experience on the Mac and the iPhone is different. Just as an example, while scrolling the tweets, the iPhone version conveniently hides the options you may choose to do with them. They are ALWAYS present on the Mac version; scrolling is terrible for me with all tweets showing up the dark "reply, retweet, .." options available. I was hoping to fine a way to hide them but I was not successful. Why is there no "drawer" as there is for the iPhone version? Same goes for the sidebar that contains the timeline, mentions, etc. icons. Why can I not hide the sidebar? I do not need it while reading the tweets and if I like I can use the keyboard shortcuts to switch to any other view. Another criticism is for the layout and the look and feel. I understand that these elements are nice on the iPhone and maybe on the iPad, however, I was hoping for a little different experience. Over-using the design is making it feel old in my opinion, especially when there are no themes or too many visual custimizations available to the client. Twitterrific nails the visuals with minimal design and custom themes (which apparently can be customized even further through little hacks). I hope there is more coming in terms of design rather than functionality or else the software that is being developed by Tapbots is becoming too similar in experience and look. Oh and by the way $20 is way too much. I hope you consider discounts or I am afraid it will be too "elite".
